DEPARTMENT OF TOURISM GUIDANCE
INTERNSHIP INFORMATION
The basic objective of the Tourism Guidance Department internship course is to reinforce students’ theoretical knowledge gained during their education with workplace practice and develop their skills for professional life. The internship is an application that prepares students for their future business life in the public and private sectors after graduation.
Our students can do internship from the end of the fourth semester. The department curriculum covers a 30 work-day mandatory internship. In order for students to count the internship as a course (TTRN 0100), they must have completed (or to be completed by end of the related semester) their internship and delivered their files before selecting the relevant course. Tourism Guidance Department internship process is subject to the Yaşar University Internship Directive at the link below.

The compulsory internship course proceeds as follows:
- It is essential that students who continue their education complete their internships.
- The internship period is 30 working days (Weekly day-offs are not counted from the internship period).
- Among the places where Tourism Guidance Department students can accomplish their internship; travel agencies, tour operators and their affiliated agencies, facilities with tourism business certificates, hotels, airline businesses, and other establishments deemed appropriate by the Internship Coordinator at the request of students, can be mentioned.
- Students should fill out an official internship application form from Yaşar University Internship Management System http://staj.yasar.edu.tr/ after they made an agreement with the company for the internship. After the necessary approvals are completed, they can start their actual internship on the date they have specified.
- A report should be scripted in English on to the last page of internship file, by the student.
- The necessary information in the internship file should be filled completely.
- Each page of the internship file should be signed and sealed. It should be noted that unsigned and unsealed reports are invalid.
- The internship file filled out by the student during the internship is examined by the head of Tourism Guidance Department Internship Committee or one of the commission members. If necessary, the commissioner may require an interview with the student regarding the internship and / or request that the report be rewritten.
- Yaşar University Internship Directive is taken into consideration in the evaluation of the Internship Report.
- The grading assessment is made out of 100 points and the results are sent to the Registrar’s Office through the Tourism Guidance Department. Students who are scored over 60 points at the end of the evaluation process are accepted as successful for their internship.
- The results of the evaluation are recorded in the student’s transcripts as “S – Satisfactory” or “U – Unsatisfactory” by the Registrar’s Office.
- If the student fails his/her internship, the internship should be repeated.
